I am a recent high school graduate living in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. In fall of 2020 I will begin my undergraduate degree in Studio Art at the Oregon State University Honors College. I plan to complete a minor in Women's, Gender, & Sexuality Studies as well. I spend a great deal of my free time working on my art or binge-watching shows on Netflix. I am super passionate about global issues such as human rights and climate change.
While I like to play around with a wide range of mediums from ceramic to charcoal, my primary medium is oil paint. I have been painting with oil for about two years now and have found it to be a fairly forgiving substance, allowing for smooth, fine details. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, I love the slow-drying nature of oil paint as it provides artists a lengthy window of time in which to refine their paintings.
Almost all of my work is inspired by personal experiences or opinions of mine. Don't get me wrong, sometimes I enjoy creating pieces just because I think they will look good. However, I am a firm believer in the distinction between art and decoration; I think that true art should be able to tell a story.
